MTM Transit Strengthens Partnerships and Safety with Arizona Industries for the Blind

Our team in Phoenix recently hosted a meaningful customer service outreach and safety blitz in partnership with the Arizona Industries for the Blind (AIB). In the Phoenix area, MTM Transit proudly operates Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services on behalf of Valley Metro. Our drivers regularly conduct multiple pick-ups and drop-offs at AIB’s facility, supporting clients as they travel to and from essential services.

The onsite training at AIB gave drivers valuable hands-on experience and deeper insight into ADA requirements and best practices for assisting passengers with visual disabilities. Participants practiced safe, compassionate techniques for helping passengers over curbs and into vehicles, guided by key principles such as always offer door-to-door and hand-to-hand assistance, stay professional, and stay safe.

The event was a success, with MTM Transit receiving excellent feedback from both AIB staff and passengers, who praised the care and reliability our drivers provide every day.

“Our partnership with the Arizona Industries for the Blind is something we truly value and take pride in,” said Lannea Mobley, MTM Transit’s Regional Director of Operations. “It reflects our shared commitment to making a meaningful impact every day.”

At MTM Transit, initiatives like this reinforce our dedication to going beyond transportation—we’re building stronger communities through understanding, respect, and exceptional service.
