MTM Transit Celebrates National Transit Driver Appreciation Day

Over the past two years, our drivers have been the backbone of MTM Transit’s operations. They continued to work on the front lines during the pandemic, making sure our passengers got where they needed to go, when they needed to be there, putting their own health and safety on the line every day.

In honor of their dedication and achievements, we were proud to celebrate National Transit Driver Appreciation Day on March 18. From Oregon to Florida, our locations celebrated the day big with catered breakfasts and lunches, gifts, and notes of appreciation displayed in break rooms.

Here are just a few highlights from the day:

  • In Bend, Oregon, our team celebrated Courtney O’Conner, who was named the State of Oregon’s Best Public Transportation Driver. Congrats, Courtney!
  • In Reno, Nevada, our team joined our client, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, in recognizing one of the pioneers in Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services: Yolanda Cobb. Yolanda has maintained a safe driving record for 34 years, and her love and passion for RTC ACCESS clients shines every day. Way to go, Yolanda!
  • In Eugene, Oregon, our team enjoyed a breakfast spread and recognized their coworkers on a “peer to peer” comment board, thanking each other for the hard work they complete every day.

Thank you to each of our drivers for everything you do to ensure our operations are successful. Without you, we would be nothing. Your contributions and efforts to ensure every trip is important never go unnoticed! We hope you all enjoyed Transit Driver Appreciation Day!
