MTM Transit is proud of our vehicle operators like Juan Lopez in Austin, Texas, who was recently recognized by Capital Metro for his heroic efforts. Juan, a MetroAccess paratransit driver, was driving his route and spotted a young girl wandering in the median of the road. When he stopped to ask if she was okay, she replied that she missed her mom. Juan immediately called into dispatch, and waited with the girl until the Austin Police Department arrived to help reunite her with her mother.
Throughout the entire situation, Juan never hesitated to help the child in need. He sets a great example for MTM Transit drivers nationwide who step up every day to better their communities. Way to go Juan!
