Recently, our RideSource paratransit team in Eugene, Oregon was invited to participate in the 10th International Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD) Exchange Program. As a woman-owned and led company, MTM Transit is proud to support opportunities for females to learn about and flourish in the transit industry. As part of the WILD Exchange Program, 35 female activists with disabilities from around the world visited Eugene. The group spent three weeks in the city participating in intensive seminars, site visits, and team building activities.
Our local team was excited to demonstrate how we operate the city’s RideSource paratransit buses, showing attendees how we use the accessible features on the vehicles to transport people with disabilities safely and securely. The attendees left with a better understanding of paratransit operations in the United States, with several wondering how they could access similar services in their home countries.
“This was a deeply humbling experience, and MTM Transit was honored to be involved in the event,” said our Eugene Safety Manager Ann Banks.
Way to go team Eugene!
