Eugene Team Collects 153 Pounds of Food for FOOD for Lane County

In Eugene Oregon, MTM Transit partners with the Lane Transit District (LTD) to operate its RideSource Americans with Disabilities (ADA) paratransit service. Like all of our locations nationwide, our Eugene team is dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve—and those our employees live in. In Eugene, one of the organizations our team is proud to support is FOOD for Lane County (FFLC), a non-profit food bank founded in 1984 with a dedication to reducing hunger by engaging the community to create access to food. FFLC is a distribution partner for Feeding America, and collects, grows, prepares, and packages food for distribution through a network of 150+ local social service agencies and programs. The MTM Transit team in Eugene hosted two food drives for FFLC in late 2023, collecting a total of 153 pounds of food for the organization’s clients.

Here’s what FFLC Community Giving Coordinator Roz Fox had to say about our team’s contributions:

“Thank you for generously hosting food drives to benefit FOOD for Lane County in 2023. Your food drives collected 153 pounds of food, which equals approximately 128 meals for our neighbors in need. Food insecurity and the struggle to make ends meet knows no season. Food drives like yours help to provide variety in the food we offer to our clients. For too many families, putting healthy food on the table has become even more difficult due to the rising costs of food and basic necessities. That’s why your gift for the food programs and services offered by FFLC and our partner agencies is so valuable and so appreciated. Food makes a difference, and your support for FOOD for Lane County is making a positive difference in our community right now. Thank you for your thoughtful generosity!”
