MTM Transit teammates in Austin, Texas recently welcomed a special guest: the U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg! Secretary Buttigieg was invited to Austin by Capitol Metro for a showcase of Pick-Up microtransit services. Pick-Up, which is operated by MTM Transit drivers, offers on-demand pick-ups and drop-offs to curbside destinations within specific Austin service zones. Passengers can request rides through the Pick-Up app or by calling the service center. Service is available at the same rates as Capital Metro’s fixed route bus service.
