MTM Transit is excited to introduce our latest ZAP Manager of the Month: Jacob Zhebrak, the Safety Manager of our Sarasota, Florida operation! Jacob earned the award for the month of April 2021. Every month, our safety mascot ZAP Man recognizes our ZAP Manager of the Month. The Manager chosen for the honor is an MTM Transit leader who embodies our safety initiatives and shows a strong commitment to safety in all facets of their job. Every leader chosen for the recognition reflects the value behind ZAP: our Zero Accident Philosophy.
Jacob was named ZAP Manager of the Month thanks to his commitment to providing exceptional safety support to our Sarasota staff, and his continuous achievement of excellent safety results. In fact, under Jacob’s guidance, Sarasota’s safety results are some of our best. As of April 19, the local team has achieved 597 days without an injury and 72 days without a preventable accident, and has had zero employee injuries since 2019!
How has Jacob helped to eliminate accidents, incidents, and injuries? Our Director of Safety Administration Tom Greufe says Jacob and his team constantly monitor and train operators in proper wheelchair securement.
“Every day, Jacob Zhebrak and his supervisors are out in the field with their team,” Tom said. “In doing so, they always take the opportunity to provide effective coaching and positive safety reinforcement.”
Jacob also uses our video coaching tool iDrive to monitor and coach vehicle operators in eliminating risky behaviors before they lead to incidents and accidents.
