In March, MTM Transit’s South Base location in Austin, Texas had the pleasure of transporting the Administrator of the Federal Transit Administration, the Honorable Nuria I. Fernandez, and a contingency of her staff from downtown Austin to a ceremony at 2910 East Fifth Street. After the event, they took the group to the Austin Bergstrom International Airport. The group also included Cheyenne Krause, the deputy Chief of Staff of CapMetro, as well as other CapMetro representatives.
In Austin, MTM Transit operates CapMetro’s MetroAccess paratransit system. Our local General Manager Raul Vela and Assistant General Manager Jonathan Jones personally oversaw every detail of the operation to ensure the team had adequate supervision and a customer service-focused Vehicle Operator assigned to the trip. Jonathan even drove the route himself in advance, paying close attention to safety and detail as he made his way through the South by SouthWest detours that were in place in and around downtown Austin to prepare the best route for the important day.
Street Supervisor LeKeicha Manor and Vehicle Operator Andrea Clark were tasked with driving and accompanying the group using one of our Pickup vehicles. The group had nothing but positive comments about their experience with CapMetro and MTM Transit. Thank you to LeKeicha, Andrea, Raul, and Jonathan for making sure this high profile group of transit leaders were transported safely when they visited Austin. Way to go!
