At MTM Transit, milestones aren’t just dates on a calendar—they’re a testament to the dedication, teamwork, and passion of our incredible teams. Recently, our team in Salem, Oregon celebrated their second anniversary, marking two years of exceptional service, growth, and collaboration for the Salem Area Mass Transit District (SAMTD)’s call center and transportation services operation.
Led by General Manager Michelle Buie, the Salem team commemorated this achievement with a celebratory luncheon, where team members reflected on their shared accomplishments and enjoyed the camaraderie that makes their work so impactful. It was a well-deserved moment of recognition and gratitude for the dedication that has driven their success over the past two years.
In Salem, MTM Transit operates multiple transportation services for SAMTD, including:
- Cherriots LIFT, an Americans with Disabilities (ADA) paratransit service that provides a demand responsive transportation option for people with disabilities who are unable to access the fixed route for all or some of their trips
- Cherriots Regional Service, a system that serves 17 communities in rural Marion and Polk counties through five express routes and one flex route
- Cherriots Shop and Ride, a shuttle that helps older adults and people with disabilities access grocery stores and shopping centers in the Salem-Keizer area
We’re incredibly grateful for the Salem team’s unwavering commitment to MTM Transit’s mission and values, as well as SATMD’s partnership and trust in our local team. Their contributions have made a lasting impact, setting the bar high for excellence.
