OCTA Selects MTM as Eligibility Determination Services Partner

Following a competitive bidding process, MTM is honored to announce that the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has selected MTM to operate its Eligibility Determination Services program for OC ACCESS. OC ACCESS is OCTA’s shared ride Americans with Disabilities (ADA) paratransit service, and is only available to qualified applicants whose physical and cognitive abilities prevent them from utilizing OCTA’s fixed route services.

On behalf of OCTA, MTM’s local staff will conduct interviews, physical functional assessments, and cognitive assessments to determine applicants’ eligibility for OC ACCESS. MTM anticipates that our local team of eight full-time employees will complete approximately 6,000 assessments per year. The program goes live on July 1, 2020.

Over the past decade, MTM’s mobility management program has grown significantly, allowing us to become the industry leader in the paratransit eligibility assessment and travel training market. Nationwide, we operate 15 ADA eligibility assessment programs. The OCTA program represents MTM’s third assessment program in Southern California; MTM also performs similar duties for Access Services in Los Angeles and the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS)’s Access paratransit program.

“MTM is proud to drive the ADA assessment market to higher standards while helping our clients reserve paratransit services and funds for those passengers who truly need them,” said MTM’s Senior Director, Mobility Management Michael Davis. “We look forward to establishing our in-person assessment model for OCTA to help the agency achieve their mission of delivering transportation solutions that enhance quality of life and keep Orange County moving.”
