We are excited to announce that we have a new safety mascot at MTM Transit: ZAP Woman! Michelle Banks, Safety and Training Manager at our Eugene, Oregon location, has been appointed as ZAP Woman, taking on the vital role previously held by ZAP Man, aka Regional Vice President Jack Hempstead. ZAP Woman serves as our safety mascot, embodying the principles of our Zero Accident Philosophy (ZAP). In her new role, Michelle spearheads safety initiatives nationwide.
In her first endeavor as ZAP Woman, Michelle visited our Salem, Oregon location for a safety blitz. The local team collaborated with Michelle to emphasize a crucial safety message: look around before you drive. This event showcased the proactive measures being taken to ensure the well-being of our team members and the communities we serve.
When asked about her role as ZAP Woman and the importance of safety, Michelle shared a powerful quote: “Safety is not just a priority; it’s a core value that shapes everything we do. My goal is to instill a sense of responsibility for safety in every team member and create an environment where zero accidents are not just a philosophy but a reality we live by.”
As we look ahead, Michelle’s influence as ZAP Woman promises to elevate our safety standards and create a workplace where every team member feels empowered to prioritize safety in all aspects of their work.
Congratulations Michelle!
