MTM Transit is thrilled to celebrate a remarkable milestone with our client, Allegan County Transportation (ACT): the transit agency recently celebrated 25 years of serving the community of Allegan County, Michigan. Since its inception, ACT has been a cornerstone of safe, reliable, and compassionate transportation, ensuring residents have access to the mobility they need. For the past 14 years, MTM Transit has proudly operated this vital service, building on its legacy and driving meaningful improvements for passengers and the community.
Since opening its doors a quarter-century ago, ACT has been dedicated to providing transportation solutions for those who rely on it most. When MTM Transit took over operations in June 2011 from a contractor that had managed the service for over 12 years, we committed to enhancing efficiency, reliability, and rider satisfaction. Today, ACT serves an impressive 110,000 passengers annually with a fleet of 28 vehicles, operating deviated fixed routes from 5:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, with limited evening and weekend service.
To mark this 25-year milestone, the ACT team recently hosted a celebratory event to honor the progress made and the lives impacted over the years. The event was a moment of pride for everyone involved, from drivers to staff to community partners. Adding to the occasion, the Michigan Department of Transportation presented a recognition award to the ACT team, commending their unwavering dedication to improving mobility across the region.
As we celebrate this milestone, MTM Transit remains focused on the future of Allegan County Transportation.
